DUNBAR AMATEUR SWIMMING CLUB

Dunbar Amateur Swimming Club has been in existence since the earlier part of last Century.

From the cold beginnings in Dunbar Outdoor Pool, DASC now swim in the warmth of Dunbar Leisure Pool. We have over 130 members and have regular intakes for new members.

The aims of DASC are to teach, coach and promote swimming in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. We occasionally compete on a friendly basis with local swimming clubs but are not affiliated to the Scottish Amateur Swimming Association (SASA) and do not take part in any major competitions.

We also offer fun swims, life saving and water polo as light relief from training.

The club is run by an elected Committee of member’s parents who are prepared to support the club. They deal with the administration of the Club from booking the pool to fund-raising and other essential tasks. DASC coaching staff and lifeguards are trained to recognised national standards and are all committed to teaching swimming. The coaching staff, lifeguards and committee are all unpaid volunteers.
